Something like this February 7th, 2009
A fortnight or so ago, Jake, my friend from work invited me to join his band “Something like this”. I came along to a practice and got a grasp on most of their songs. I am really excited to be part of it, as joining a band is something I have wanted to do for ages, but just had never got around to. Up until now I have been purely a bedroom guitarist, so its great to play with some other people and put those years of lessons to good use.
The style of music played is rock (both soft and heavy) and I have really been enjoying it. Its been a challenge to learn all the setlists but im getting there. The Guys have played gig’s at ojo’s cafe and bar in Tuggeranong, and i think we will be looking to play there again as well as some other venues around Canberra which will be advertised on this blog and the band website below.
The lineup is..
Jake - Guitar/Bass
Rohan - Guitar/Bass
Don - Keyboard/Vocals
Simon - Guitar/Vocals
Rob - Drums
Jake and Don are both my friends from work, Simon and Rob I have just recently met at practices.

Macau trip confirmed February 7th, 2009
Its locked in - flights are booked and my travel approved. Andy and I are going to Macau and Hong Kong. On the 25th I will be going to Melbourne and from there to Macau. The plan is to stay 6 nights there and then go on to Hong Kong for another 5 nights (something like that anyway).
From the research we have done it looks as though the accomodation is pretty expensive and the rooms kinda cramped. As long as we have internet access and enough room for our laptops we should be sweet. The live poker scene should be an experience too, have heard some different things from the forums. The language barrier and the currency will make it interesting. Hopefully we can also get off our arse and be motivated enough to do some touristy crap too. Suggestions for touristy crap welcome.
